Requirements
Supported Server Target Systems
The IIS server scan tasks are supported on the following target server operating systems:
- Windows Server 2022
- Windows Server 2019
- Windows Server 2016
- Windows Server 2012 R2
- Windows Server 2012
Supported Desktop Target Systems
The IIS server scan tasks are supported on the following target desktop operating systems:
- Windows 11
- Windows 10
IIS Administration PowerShell Module
By default the IIS server scan tasks will use IISAdministration PowerShell module if available, otherwise failing back to the older WebAdministration PowerShell module.
The IISAdministration PowerShell module is included with Windows 10, Windows Server 2016, and above.
For Windows Server 2012, and Windows Server 2012 R2 it can be installed from the PowerShell gallery.

Access Settings
The IIS server scan tasks use PowerShell remoting to obtain information remotely from IIS Servers.
- Firewall access must allow access to the PowerShell remoting ports on the remote machine
- The XIA Configuration client service account or custom credentials must have administrator rights on the remote machine.
Windows Firewall
When using Windows Firewall with Advanced Security the following rules must be enabled.
Windows Remote Management (HTTP-In)
Local Service
The IIS server scan tasks support the local service.
Automatic Detection
IIS servers can be automatically detected and scanned by Windows machine scan tasks.
