The web shortcut provides the ability for users to open a web site or URL using the user's default browser. 


To use a specific browser a file or application shortcut must be used.


Standard Browsers

The search locations should be configured on the file tab to point to the location of the browser's executable.



The command line parameters should be configured with the URL to open.



Microsoft Edge (Deprecated)

For older versions of Microsoft Edge that install as modern applications that do not have an executable file the search locations should be configured on the file tab to point to %SystemRoot%\Explorer.exe.



The command line parameters should be configured with the URL to open prefixed by microsoft-edge: for example microsoft-edge:https://www.contoso.com.
