Failed to connect to an IPC Port: Access is denied
Symptoms
When connecting to the XIA Configuration Client service you receive the error
Failed to connect to an IPC Port: Access is denied.
Cause
The user connecting to the XIA Configuration Client service is not a member of the IPC Authorized Users group specified in the security settings.
Resolution
Log on as a user who is a member of the IPC Authorized Users group

If the group is unknown or has an issue you can correct it manually
- Make a backup copy of the client configuration file, which is by default found in the following location
C:\Program Files\CENTREL Solutions\XIA Configuration\XIA Configuration Service\Configuration\Configuration.xml - Open the Configuration.xml file in a text editor
- Modify the IpcAuthorizedUsers property
- Restart the XIA Configuration Service
